Object Exotic Garden

A small but developing exotic garden with a mixture of Palms, Bananas and Ferns and Succulents with a combination of exotic colours and a variety of Bamboos all blending together to create a rich 'micro climate' for the plants to co-exist. The object garden is now part of The National Garden Scheme and will be in the 'Yellow Book' next year- full opening times and dates will be posted on this site soon and later in the yellow book in the spring- Object garden will be open on the 24th of June 2007 and 26th August 2007 as part of the London and National garden scheme as above. It will also be open subsequently by appointment and at weekend dates to be announced See the above link for more information

We had a great day at Eltham Palace and should be visited by all who love a good modern but art deco influenced design. This can be found on the English Heritage site and is attached to the existing part of the Palace. Fantastic even the food served in the old kitchen is good...what we will do for a nice cup of tea!!

House UK 'word of mouth' new book by Helen Kirwan Taylor

'Whether you need a cleaner or an architect, a reliable builder or someone to restore furniture, finding the person can be a huge headache and very likely an expensive gamble. Home UK answers the questions of how and where to find those people'

Nigel Buckie of Object architecture is listed as one of the 'word of mouth' architects in Helen Kirwan Taylors new book called House UK published by Conran Octopus available mid May 2005

Quotes from the book entry:

'Nigel Buckie was recommended by the girls in the RIBA Press office. They offered me dozens of names until I said who would you use? 'oh Nigel, they replied.'

'Buckie wants to change peoples perceptions of what they can and cant have. He aims to give his clients something better than what they asked for'. He prefers the Holistic approach, doing everything from the front gate to the back garden'

'what the clients say:

'Hes been fantastic to work with, I met him during architecture week and somehow we got to where we are now ( which is building a pod), thanks to his vision. He is incredibly patient and has become a friend'

'Helen Standring, Client.'

'Nigel was great. immensly cordial and very good at listening, which is a good starting point in any relationship. He interpreted the breif very well and things came out as he described they would. He put his suggestions in a very understandable and considerate way and I am happy I went along with the ones I did. I would happily recommend him to anyone.'

'Jane Wilson, Client.'

If you want to find out more email us requesting the entry in the HOUSE UK book or the book is available in all good bookshops and CONRAN SHOPS.
